Senior Staff Attorney in Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic
The Senior Staff Attorney in the Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic provides pro bono legal assistance to veterans. The Senior Staff Attorney is responsible for case intake, selection and representation; supervises the junior attorney and clinical law students in their representation of the client including appellate brief writing and conducting personal hearings before the Department of Veterans Affairs; conducts substantive training on VA law for the clinic’s pro bono network of attorneys; and provides advice and guidance to volunteer attorneys handling VA benefit appeals on behalf of the clinic.

Background in legal clinic environment with an emphasis on VA benefit appeals, preferred. Discharge upgrade experience a plus Solid analytical skills Solid understanding of the United States military Experience interviewing at-risk or in-crisis clients
