The Operations Manager will assist the Director and Assistant Dean with application processing, statistical analyses and reports, and office administration.


The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the operational functions of the application and scholarship process.  Some of his/her duties will include:
  • Maintaining the admissions/application database
  • Maintaining data and reporting integrity
  • Compiling and analyzing data and producing reports
  • Directing and monitoring the flow of applications to the Admissions Office and faculty admissions committee
  • Maintaining a check system to ensure completed applications are reviewed in a timely manner and decisions are accurately processed and released
  • Maintaining clear communication with the Director and Assistant Dean for Admissions on operational issues that may impact the functioning of the office
  • Training new staff on systems and all staff on new system upgrades
  • Maintaining data for accreditation reports
  • Preparing correspondence to prospective and admitted students
  • In tandem with the Admissions Data Coordinator, processing new JD applications to completion and placing them In Review
  • Communicating with applicants regarding any missing documents or required character-and-fitness documentation, and tracking submission
  • Maintaining and advertising a list of external scholarship opportunities
  • Advertising and collecting applications for institutional and donor-funded scholarships
  • Preparing communications informing current students of scholarship awards, adjustments, or losses
  • Collecting scholarship appeals and organizing information to send to the scholarship appeals committee for review
  • Filing all student scholarship correspondence in ImageNow
  • Coordinating and scheduling interviews
  • Acting as an Astra power-user to assist in scheduling and planning events
  • Managing registration and payment of law fairs and recruiting events
  • Tracking recruiting and other office expenses
  • Responding to general admission inquiries by telephone, email and in-person as needed
  • Other projects as assigned by the Director and Assistant Dean of Admissions

Educational requirements

A Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of relevant work experience

Experience requirements

Knowledge of data management and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
